Holidays!

Thanksgiving was great! I spent a lot of time with family including my cousin's twin babies! My grandparents are going back to Florida and I will miss hanging out with them. My grandma knits too and we took a quilting class together over the summer that was a lot of fun.

DH and I bought a little tree and decorated it this weekend. We just need some candy canes and a tree skirt to finish it.
This is a scarf I am making for my mother-in-law. I am about a fourth of the way done and then I have to make one for my father-in-law. I love this pattern and the yarn is super soft. After the holidays I might just make one for myself!

I also have one block left for the Block Of the Month at my local quilt shop! I can't wait to put the top together. This will be hubby's Christmas present if I finish it in time (fingers crossed)! Hopefully I will get a lot of work done this week.

Friday Night

Friday was a very long night. The Girl Scouts spent the night in the mall so the store I work at stayed open and we didn't get off work until midnight. I was able to get a little bit of knitting done before I crashed but not even enough to really take a picture of. I am very disappointed but hopefully next time I will be able to actually have the time to participate.

Staying Busy

The time is flying by. Tonight is the Friday Night Sew In! I am hoping I can stay awake to get some projects done after work. We are not closing the store until 11:30 tonight so it will be a very long night for me. It seems when you work retail that your plans always get messed up by something but hey, that's life. So far I have finished 3 scarves for Christmas and have 4 more to go plus finishing two quilts.
Oh! And the new Josh Groban CD came out this past Monday and it is wonderful! Josh Groban is a fantastic singer and I love quilting or knitting while listening to his music. Tomorrow I will have some pictures to put up. I wish everyone good luck tonight!

Yarn Shopping

Things have been very very busy for me. I have already been working holiday hours for about a month and have very little time to do much crafting. I am trying to make Christmas presents though. I am making 6 or 7 scarves and two quilts for Christmas presents this year and somehow have to find the time to make them all. I have started one scarf which I am giving to my sister-in-law and have bought some yarn for two more scarves.I had so much fun yarn shopping! Here are my goodies and a flower my neighbor gave to me.

Wall Hanging

I finished my wall hanging and blanket too! I gave the blanket to my cousin's daughter for her 2nd birthday. She loves it!

Book Keeper

This is the Book Keeper I made using the pattern from the Moda Bakeshop for my co-worker Vanessa. I used a Moda Nature's Notebook honey bun and a fat quarter from my stash for the lining and binding. This was so much fun to make and I can't wait to make one to use for my new Kindle! This would be a great Christmas gift for anyone with an e-reader.

Layer Cakes

My Moda Breakfast at Tiffany's Layer Cakes came in this morning from Burgundy Buttons. They are so pretty! I can't wait to work with them. Unfortunately it will have to wait a while because it's time to start making christmas presents.

I went fabric shopping at Hobby Lobby yesterday to get fabric for christmas presents. I also found some cute fabric that I just couldn't pass up.

Now, I should have enough fabric for projects to last through the end of the year. Yay! I am also in the process of organizing my craft room and we are getting new kitchen cabinets in next week. I am so excited! Soon we will have a full usable kitchen and I will have a pretty, organized craft room! Chad starts Airmen Leadership School this month too so for a while we will have a normal schedule and I will be getting more hours at work so that means more money for fabric! This will be a great month for us!

Fall

I love fall and can't wait for it to start. The days cool off, the humidity goes down, the leaves change, and you know the holiday season is coming soon. I have already started of a fall wallhanging along with getting ideas together for christmas presents! It's time to get busy!

My Schnibbles Times Two book just came in the mail today too and I am so excited! What do I make first? There are several patterns in there i love. Decisions, decisions...we will see what happens!

Moda

I got my first Moda fabrics! I got a Whimsy jelly roll and a Nature's Notebook honey bun! I am so excited and can't wait to get started using them but I already have a few projects lined up to do first.

I have been trying out a pattern for a wallhanging that Sharon, the owner of Treadle Pushers Quilt Shop, has written. This was her first time writing her own pattern and she did a pretty good job. I edited it a little and now she is about ready to put some kits together. A picture will be up here soon. Other than that, not much is going on besides work and try to catch up on all my projects.

Back Again

Wow. So much has been going on that I forgot I had started this. Time has just flown by this summer. I have learned that crafts can get you through anything. Whenever I start feeling down I have learned to tell myself to just keep knitting or quilting through it. That everything will be ok. As long as you are working towards a goal, no matter how small, you can get through anything. That being said, I have a new finished baby blanket and a baby blanket and three quilts in progress!
